The sun began to rise, splitting the darkness of the night sky, the first rays hitting the tops of the trees and casting dark shadows over the grounds of the Academy. The building cast out an image of days gone past; the outer shell was ancient and had been restored many times, the windows arched and the stones that made up the walls huge in comparison to the more modern-built schools within the world. As the light hit the top of the Academy, an elderly man appeared in the window, still wearing a nightcap and a robe. His name was Gotei.

He stretched out an arm and waited, the other hand straightening a pair of rounded glasses on his nose. Minutes passed. Wings fluttered and then came to a rest as a kestrel perched on the offered arm and shuffled around. Gotei brought the kestrel in slowly, stopping it inches from his chest and stroking the bird’s feathers, seemingly unthinkingly. The sun crept up minute by minute. As the rays cleared the trees he turned and let the bird go, leaving the room. The kestrel perched atop the head of his bed, beady eyes darting round the room.

As Gotei settled himself behind a desk and began to sort through mock-up examinations, a bell clanged round the school to signify the morning had come.

Elincia took a few minutes to open her eyes. 'Aahhh' She moaned. Elincia blinked several times before realizing that her unfriendly dorm-sharers were gone. She sat up. Somehow she was wide awake and rushing down to her first lesson of the day. Elincia ran down the narrow corridors, until colliding with a small teacher. 'Sorry' she muttered in his direction and once turning the next corner ran on again. After another few minutes she found the door to her classroom.

Keiichi groaned his way out of bed, then blinked a few times to shake the sleep from his eyes. Mornings weren’t a strong point for him. Then again he doubted they really were for anyone else. He cast a glance out the window as he pulled on his typical purple top, tight-fitting and sleeveless. Securing a belt over his dark, baggy trousers, he clipped his weapons on and darted out of the room.

He stalked into the classroom, a grin on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. He tossed his long hair out of his eyes and headed for his table.

-------------

Hikari wandered into the class looking as though she had literally just tumbled out of bed, as indeed she had. Her ancient, torn up tunic was thrown on haphazardly, and her white-blonde hair was nowhere near as tidy as was expected of her. Blue eyes still encrusted with sleep moved lazily round the room. She stumbled her way up the aisles and sat down at a table, yawning.

Through the haze of fuzzy students she spotted Elincia and cast a tired smile her way. The door opened and closed, a tall man entering the room. Their teacher for the day was one of the more laid-back, younger guys. He tended to let them push the boundaries a little more as long as work got done. He spread out the class register on the front desk and began searching out faces, letting them continue undisturbed in their activities for now.

Elincia took her seat, and smiled back at Hikari before opening her book, and memorizing the spells printed on the pages. After the teacher had finished the register Elincia put down her book, and tried to pay attention. Her thoughts wondered and soon she drifted off. Her head on the desk, her eyes shut.

The teacher sighed. Halfway into his lesson and most of the class were either asleep or being inattentive, with the exception of a few panicked last-minute revisers. He cleared his throat loudly, then clapped three times. The sound resounded easily round the classroom, magically magnified. The veins in his hands pulsed slightly; he wasn't used to making use of his magic. Generally he taught kids how to handle weapons, so he was used to using them himself.

Hikari jerked back from her daydream, sighing unhappily as she realised she wasn't in fact in her woodland home and instead was sitting among many now-listening students. She ran a hand through her hair, then groaned as she realised she had gone out in her usual half-awake state and forgotten to even brush her hair. She glanced down at her outfit and tugged at the skirt part in quiet agony; she wore the skirt too high on her hips, exposing rather a lot of toned thigh. She turned in her chair, facing the teacher for once, hands still stretching the material.

Keiichi looked up from his doodles, the quill in his hand dripping ink onto the page from the overflowed reservoir. Disinterest filled his eyes. He wasn't too concerned with this class, mostly because he knew the majority of the theory from his years of living at the Academy itself. All the same, it paid off to occasionally pay attention to the teachers rather than horsing around with them.

((OOC: Sorry for my late replies... I'm basically not too sure what I'm doing right now, so it takes a while to think up adequate amounts for posts.))
